Keep Your Slime Slappy!

Stiff Slime
Slime can harden and shrink over time or from certain conditions.
-
If your slime has been in cold conditions it will stiffen and just needs to warm up.
-
If your clear-based or white glue slime is stiff from over-activation or dryness, mix in some vegetable glycerin (often available at places like Target, Michael's, or CVS). Only add 2-3 drops of glycerin at a time while kneading your slime. It will feel stickier and slimier at first but keep kneading. If the sticky/tacky feeling doesn't resolve in a few minutes mix in some baby oil or a little activator.
-
If you're fixing a butter slime (soft-fluffy slimes like Slappy Dough) run it under gentle warm water, then knead and stretch your slime until the texture is just right.
-
Sometimes over-activated slime just needs to "rest" a while. Leave it in the container and check it every few days until it's at a good consistency.

Sticky Slime
All slimes change texture depending on things like the temperature, humidity, and how much use they get. When your slime gets sticky:
-
Use your activator spray, which is included with every slime order. This spritzer of activator can be used anytime your slimes are too sticky or runny, but go slowly - you don't want to over-activate your slime. Give your slime 1-2 sprays, then knead it to mix in the activator before adding more.
-
If you run out of the provided activator, you can make your own by mixing borax with warm water, applying some contact lens solution, or using commercially produced slime activators. With all activators, go slow and mix well before adding more.

Care & Maintenance for Your Slime
Keep your slimes in the best condition and lasting as long as possible by following this advice:
-
Wash your hands before using your slime. Over time, dirt and oils from your skin will dull the color of your slime. Clean hands means clean slime!
-
Try not to drop your slime on the floor. Every time slime hits the floor it picks up bits of dirt that can be really hard, or impossible, to get out.
-
Use your slime on a clean, dry surface.
-
Always return your slime to its air-tight container after your done with it so it doesn't dry out.
